Vermicomposting is an excellent option for reducing your environmental impact and preparing a natural, beneficial soil additive. You will have to create a worm bin where you can put Cow Dung Manure, dry leaves for the worms to feed off and create rich soil.

The best spots for Vermicompost pits should be consistent temperature and moisture level. Avoid having the pit where it is very hot. The ideal temperature for the pit will be 30 to 40 degrees Celsius. If possible, create a shed or use green net to reduce the heat

You can create a pit as per your requirement and need. Also, you can go with HDPE bag or Cement structure to make vermicompost

First apply a layer of dry coconut waste on to the pit. This will be the hiding place for the Worms whenever the ambient temperature increases.https://www.rehobothorganicfarms.com/liquidfertilizer

Next add a layer of Banana leaves and well chopped Banana trunk. This will retain the moisture content in the Vermicompost pit and will keep the place cool for the worms to reside.

Next add a layer of dry leaves like Super Napier. This would be a good food for the Worms

Now let’s add well composted Cow Dung Manure on to the pit up to one foot and then add a layer of dry leaves and banana leaves.

Again, add Cow Dung Manure and fill the pit.

Now the Cow Dung manure will be hot and it has to cooled down. Hence, we need to sprinkle water everyday at least for 10 days till the temperature comes down.

Now we can add worms to the pit. The best worms to use in a vermicomposting operation are red wigglers. African earthworms are also good options. Your worms need moisture to live and breathe, so it’s important for the bedding to be wet before you add the worms later on.

Soak the bedding after you shred it or run water over it after it’s in the bin. Make sure that all of the bedding is completely wet. Pour the worms into this hole, rather than across the top. The worms will feel more at home this way, like they are partly underground

Check the bin weekly to see how much bedding is left. When all of the bedding has been converted to compost, it’s harvest time. Push it all to one side, then add new wet bedding. Slowly scoop out the compost but leave the worms in the bin.

Pruning can be done anytime except summer. Prune the tree when its branches and twigs are still young and small. Prune the branches, at least 1 inches away from the main stem

Do not cut the branch collar as it will take time to heal. Also cutting the branch collar increases the risk of pests and diseases

You can use hand pruner or pole pruner depending on the size of the tree. Small, young twigs can also be pruned using sharp sickle or machete

Pomegranate, being an orchard crop, is a heavy feeder of nutrients. They require Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Sulphur, Iron, Manganese, Zinc, Copper and Boron for better yield. Pomegranate require both micro and macro nutrients to get good yields and best manure will be cattle compost. Well composted Cow Dung Manure is required in the soil for optimal growth of Pomegranate trees.

This manure will restore the fertility of the soil. It will also enhance the water holding capacity of the soil and add essential nutrients such as Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Vitamins and proteins for the soil.

For 3 year old tree, apply 10 kg of cow dung compost per Pomegranate tree for better yield and  150 to 200 grams of Ammonium sulphate. This amount is increased every year, and for 5 year old tree you should apply 50 kg FYM and 1 Kg of Ammonium sulphate.

This compost is a nature friendly, non-toxic and best organic fertilizer for organic Pomegranate farming. It is a highly nutrient organic fertilizer and it promotes the growth of the Pomegranate trees to a greater extent.

Super Napier is a high yielding green fodder grass for Dairy Farms. They can give yield upto 250 tonne per acre in a year. They can grow by 12 feet to 15 feet within 90 days. Super Napier has protein content upto 16% and very food for Daily Animals

First step in planting Super Napier is Cultivating the soil. This is Black soil and it requires ploughing and cross-ploughing to be well broken. Hence we are using Heavy duty tractor with Cultivator attachment for prepare the soil. It Tills the soil which has deep roots, unwanted plants, shrubs and weeds and is Best for land preparation. Repeat this activity after one week so that the new plants and weeds can be removed from the soil and the land get 100% ready for planting super napier

Next we are going make furrows to plant Super Napier stems. Before making furrows, Stretch out a rope across the plot to make sure you have a straight line. Now lets make Furrows at a gap of 2 feet width and 1 feet high. Here we are using hand labor to make furrows. We can also use Furrow ridge tools attached to your tractor for toughest cultivation with outstanding penetration

Now furrows are ready and we can plant the stems. We can plant 10,000 to 12,000 stems per acre.  We can use the hoe and measuring stick, plant the seedlings at a gap of 1 feet. Each stem should be at least 1 feet in length and should have 2 nodes. While planting one node should go inside the soil and one node should be outside the soil. Also please ensure the nodes are facing upward else the stem will not grow and will die. After completing one row you can similarly complete planting stems other rows in your farm.

Watering should be done immediately after planting Super Napier stems. Watering should be done twice a week depending on type of the soil. Waste water from the cattle shed can also be used for irrigation and is best source of manure. Super Napier grows well in all types of water.

Super Napier stems will start germinating within 7 to 10 days and weeds will also start growing in the farm. These weeds rob your plants of the benefits from fertilizer you apply and will start growing well. Hence after 30 days, weeding has to be done for the plants. If necessary, second spell of weeding can be done after 45 days. After that, Super Napier grass will grow very fast and densely.
